Luca is our Chief Information Officer, he shapes Yeastime’s technological vision and translates it into robust, scalable solutions. He bridges strategic innovation with hands-on execution, establishing the technical foundation that enables our products to evolve from concept to production-ready systems. His approach combines deep technical expertise with a pragmatic focus on reliability, security, privacy and operational excellence.
- Architecture & Data Infrastructure – he architected a dual-path IoT infrastructure tailored to different deployment scenarios. Laboratory and prototype devices leverage a self-hosted architecture with on-premises MQTT brokers and local database instances, providing complete control, rapid iteration cycles, and independence from external services during R&D phases. For industrial deployments, he designed a robust edge-to-cloud system that streams real-time telemetry to a highly scalable, managed cloud MQTT broker with built-in load balancing and message persistence. Event-driven serverless functions process and validate incoming data streams before writing to managed relational databases.
- Firmware & Industrial IoT – Luca designs embedded firmware for our complete device portfolio, ensuring end-to-end synchronization from bench prototypes to production lines with robust connectivity and fault tolerance. Laboratory devices leverage microcontroller-based architectures while industrial-scale systems utilize System-on-Module platforms running embedded Linux. Each firmware implementation prioritizes real-time data acquisition, secure over-the-air (OTA) updates, offline resilience, and seamless integration with our cloud infrastructure.
- Operational Dashboard & Web Platform – he developed a multi-tenant, multi-language, role-based access-controlled web application with a responsive, cross-browser frontend that serves as the central hub for brewery operations, device management, fermentation tracking, diagnostic monitoring, maintenance workflows, administrative procedures, and biotech coordination. Built with modern web frameworks and real-time data synchronization, the platform delivers instant updates, intuitive user experience, and seamless scalability across organizations of all sizes. The application includes comprehensive audit logging with traceable event codes, centralizing infrastructure logs for enhanced diagnostics, security analysis, and help desk efficiency.
- Cybersecurity & Privacy – Luca implements defense-in-depth strategies including Linux hardening, container isolation, encrypted data transmission and DevSecOps practices throughout the development pipeline. Drawing on his experience as a GDPR data controller, he designed a GDPR-compliant, privacy-first infrastructure without using any third-party analytics tools. Our technology operates on a zero-data-selling policy: we do not collect, store, or sell any user behavioral data or personal information beyond what is strictly necessary for service delivery. All customer data remains under their full ownership and control, with end-to-end encryption ensuring that sensitive brewing formulations and operational metrics are accessible only to authorized personnel within each organization.
- Disaster Recovery & Backup – we handle cloud-native disaster recovery plans and automated encrypted backups to ensure business continuity and data resilience in case of failure scenarios.
- Hardware development and prototyping – Luca collaborates with our hardware team in building prototypes of products; envisios easy user interfaces, optimize machine portability and setup fast Internet and plant systems connections using safe procedures.
